So good! If you haven't tried them, you should! More My sister and I were both very pleasantly surprised that these were among the best we have ever had! Big, hefty slices of tangy green tomato in a crunchy coating that perfectly complimented the tomato. I have had fried green tomatoes all over the south with mixed results. The definite star of the visit was the order of fried green tomatoes. The mac and cheese was rich and cheesy and also quite good. The "kick" was more like a nudge in my opinion, subtle and not too spicy, but definitely delicious. Not sure what to get instead, I finally settled on a biscuit with their signature "gravy with a kick." My sister got a small side of mac and cheese and an order of fried green tomatoes and we shared everything.
I looked for the sandwich I had several years ago at the San Marco location (I think it was called the Reinhold it had a chicken breast and pickles on a biscuit) and was a little disappointed to see that the menu has changed (or maybe they vary from location to location) and it was not listed. We stopped in on a Wednesday morning around 10:45 a.m.
So on my most recent visit I put it on my "to do list." Several years ago while visiting my sister, we ate at the San Marco location and I loved it so much, I vowed to return given the chance.
